’s School Administrator magazine and Conference Daily Online received external recognition in 2025 from six national publication awards programs.

Notably, 10 of the 11 entries submitted by in the six competitions were recognized with honors.
Here’s a full rundown of the contest awards.
Azbee Awards of Excellence
Our publications captured three Azbee Awards, two of them in national competition and one on the regional level.
School Administrator magazine’s November 2024 issue (“Artificial Intelligence”) earned the Gold Award in the Magazine-Single Topic category in the Mid-Atlantic Region and the Silver Award in the national competition.
Ethical Educator, our monthly column providing practitioner analysis of ethical dilemmas, received the Silver Award in the Regular Department category in both the national competition and in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Our entry consisted of the January, February and March 2024 installments dealing with cases involving a high school principal’s plagiarism, demands placed on a relocated school district employee and a couple’s lack of support of their transgender child.
’s Conference Daily Online, a multimedia newsletter covering the highlights of the association’s 2024 national conference over four days in San Diego, Calif., took the Silver Award in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the Web Microsite category.
The Azbee Awards are managed by the American Society of Business Publication Editors, the professional association for B2B editorial professionals nationwide.
APEX Awards for Publication Excellence
School Administrator received the Grand Award in the Print Magazine category for its September 2024 issue (“Sanity Amidst the Culture Wars”).
The APEX Awards, now in their 37th year, are run by Communications Concepts, a company that provides publishing, public relations and marketing support to organizations.
Tabbies
Conference Daily Online’s 2024 edition, produced at the national conference in San Diego, received the Gold Award as the competition’s best e-newsletter. The judges said of the publication: “A really engaging mix of news, features and video from the reporting team. The presentation and coverage are worthy of an office-based newsletter, so the fact that it is an onsite publication is all the more impressive!”
The magazine’s Ethical Educator took Bronze in the department category. The judges reported: “A very creative way to discuss topics of current importance — more magazines should try this!”
This is the 22nd year of the editorial and design competition, drawing entries worldwide, sponsored by Trade, Association and Business Publications International.
Trendy Awards
The magazine won the Silver Award for best monthly trade association magazine. Our entry was the September 2024 issue (“Sanity Amidst the Culture Wars”).
The contest sponsor, Association Trends, is an organization that supports association executives with training and data research. This is the 45th year of the contest.
NSPRA Publication and Digital Media Excellence Awards
School Administrator received an Award of Excellence for the September 2024 issue (“Sanity Amidst the Culture Wars”).
Conference Daily Online’s 2025 edition, produced over four days at the national conference in New Orleans in March, received an Award of Merit in the e-newsletter category.
The National School Public Relations Association manages the national competition.
American Society of Journalists and Authors Awards
Lastly, freelance writer Jennifer Larson’s article “The Political Temperature of Climate Change Education” in School Administrator’s April 2024 issue was named the winner in the Trade category in the 2025 ASJA competition. The judges said of her article: “[T]his thoughtful take on a touchy subject provides a model for discussion and education. They appreciated its actionable suggestions for readers (school administrators) as well as the article’s resources.”
