ÂÜÀòÍøUrges Senate to Pass Bipartisan FY26 Proposal
September 04, 2025
Today, ÂÜÀòÍøled a letter—joined by five other K-12 organizations—to the Senate urging them to swiftly pass the bipartisan FY26 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Services (LHHS) proposal that advanced through committee in late July.
The proposal acknowledges the importance of federal education formula programs by increasing allocations for IDEA, Title I and REAP and maintaining level funding for the other critical Title programs. While we strongly believe that these programs deserve more substantial investments, we recognize that this proposal represents a meaningful compromise.
In light of the recent LHHS proposal from the House Appropriations Subcommittee—which makes drastic and unacceptable cuts to Title I and eliminates other vital programs like Title II and Title III—it is more important than ever that the Senate demonstrates bipartisan support for investments in education and maintains stable funding for schools.
