ÂÜÀòÍøAnnounces Collaboration with League of Women Voters to Support Student Voters

September 24, 2025

ÂÜÀòÍøis proud to announce a new partnership with the League of Women Voters (LWV) aimed at educating, equipping, and empowering student voters in 2025 and beyond. Local elections are happening across the country this fall that will determine things like funding, policy, and curriculum for schools. While many school districts already partner with local LWV chapters to conduct nonpartisan civic programming with students and educators, this national partnership will provide new support to help expand these collaborations nationwide.

About League of Women Voters
LWV is a nonpartisan organization that has fought since 1920 to empower voters and defend democracy. It conducts voter registration, education, mobilization, and protection activity at the national, state, and local level through 750+ Leagues in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the US Virgin Islands. With more than a million members and supporters, the League is one of the most trusted nonpartisan voices in the elections landscape with deep grassroots in every corner of America. Learn more at .

LWV Education Fund also runs VOTE411.org, a nonpartisan one-stop shop for all the tools and information you need to make your voice heard. It includes a voter registration tool, absentee ballot and polling place information, and more. It also features a ballot guide: fill in your address and view a detailed guide of what will be on your ballot, down to the local level, with information about the candidates and ballot measures. VOTE411 is nonpartisan, and all information is sourced from election officials’ sites and from candidate teams. The site is available in both English and Spanish. Learn more at .

How League of Women Voters Supports Schools
Below are examples of how local League chapters are already collaborating with students and educators to increase civic engagement in school districts across the country. We hope these examples help you think through what kind of programming might be most effective in your district.
  • Voter Registration Drives: Local Leagues have partnered with schools for many years to register or pre-register students, especially through tabling at the school. More Leagues have begun to train students at the school to register fellow students (i.e., student ambassadors, peer-to-peer, or train-the-trainer programs). Leagues partner regularly with school faculty or student government leaders to bring voter registration programs into the schools.

  • In-Classroom Civics Education: A great way to engage students is by inviting a local League near you into the classroom to talk about the importance of voting and to register eligible student voters. In-classroom visits are effective and equitable, because some students hesitate to stop by a table at lunch time or at an event. Beyond voting information, Leagues have also been invited into classrooms to share lessons on the history of voting rights, mis/disinformation identification trainings, and more general Civics 101 sessions. Some League chapters have even created civics textbooks ().

  • VOTE411 Voter Education: VOTE411 is your one-stop shop for voting and election information, and a key resource for young voters to cast their ballot with confidence. Leagues regularly partner with the student body to create and share VOTE411 resources.

  • Organizing Candidate Forums: LWV organizes and hosts thousands of nonpartisan candidate forums across the country for constituents to hear from candidates running for state or local office. Sometimes, local Leagues will partner with a school district to host a school board candidate forum.

  • Celebrating the Civic Holidays: Schools are central to nonpartisan civic engagement for young voters and future voters. Civic Holidays are key moments each fall to engage students at their schools. Here are four key holidays to celebrate:
    • October 6-10, National Voter Education Week: With a focus on providing voters with the resources they need to vote with confidence, this week in early October is a great week to share VOTE411’s make a voting plan page: .
    • October 28, Vote Early Day: Partners nationwide empower voters with information to cast their ballot early. Schools can learn more about their state’s early voting rules at , and share with their student body.
    • November 5, Election Day: A great day to share with students, so they can cast their ballot with confidence.

Resources to Help Your School District
  • Check Out the ÂÜÀòÍøVOTE411 page: ! Promoting VOTE411 is a great way to make sure your network is registered and ready to vote in any upcoming election. ÂÜÀòÍøhas created a unique, branded VOTE411 page for our members to use: VOTE411.org/AASA. We recommend promoting the page via:
    • Adding to your digital or online system: add the resource to your online portal, website, newsletter, social media Linktree, etc so it’s readily available to your network.
    • Sharing with staff: Make sure educators and administrators are aware of the resource and know how to share it with their students. We recommend sending it out ahead of key voter registration deadlines or election dates in your district (which you can find on VOTE411.org).
    • Passing out printed materials: The website has printable flyers and business cards to pass out at tabling events or to educators.
  • Local League Locator: Reach out to your local area League chapter to talk about your community’s needs this election season, what your district is doing to meet those needs and identify areas where you can work together for greater impact. Find your local League contact information .
  • Coming Next Year: Civic Collaboration Guide! We’ll be working with LWV to create a formal collaboration guide for 2026 partnership. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, needs, or requests for additional support.
