Since becoming Superintendent in 2016, Dr. Cardona has led transformative changes in San Marcos CISD, driving academic innovation and expanding student opportunities. He introduced dual language programs, launched an Early College model, and secured key grants like GEAR Up to support student success. Under his leadership, students now have access to 21 career pathways, a state-of-the-art STEAM Center, and comprehensive support services including SEL counselors and clinical therapists. Dr. Cardona also completed his PhD during his tenure, reflecting his deep personal and professional commitment to the San Marcos community.
