Dr. Cara Malone is a seasoned educator with 16 years of teaching experience and 14 years in campus/district administration, currently serving as Chief of Schools in Hutto ISD. She brings a global perspective due to serving in multiple states and school districts. Throughout her administrative career, she has served as an instructional coach/assistant principal, principal, curriculum director, assistant and deputy superintendent in both teaching and learning as well as human resources. Her experience has been largely in districts with 80% free and reduced or above. Her passion is developing leaders, supervising principals, creating efficient systems, and exploring the possibilities for changing the teaching model. She completed her doctorate at Texas A & M Commerce in 2022. She is the proud mother of 4 children, 1 grand child, and she lives in Hutto, Texas, with her husband, who is retired and teaches special education.
